Review: Cleanse Fire by Anastasia V. Pergakis

Cleanse FireCleanse Fire by Anastasia V. Pergakis
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Did the book end the way you expected? The ending was predictable to many of the book club members. As much as the book showcased loss, loyalty and betrayal, the writing tone of the author allows you to believe that there is no such thing as an unresolved or unhappy ending for the main characters.

Favourite scene …. When Kie asks for a "simple, black dress" because she is in mourning. The reader senses her frustration, but they are also able to recognise Aeli's best efforts to make her look good just as any good friend would do.

Favourite quote … "How could Palto betray us?" For me, this was the part the book really sucked me in. Was the betrayal a misconception readers will understand at the end? Or was it real and it is the moment that like the characters the readers understand that the enemy is within them?

Disclosure - As a Quality Reads Book Club member, I received a free copy of this book from the author via Orangeberry Book Tours in exchange for my honest review.
